Post 1: Digital Age Learning Lesson
For my first project, I was asked to design a lesson involving a choice of technologies. I chose to explore the use of QR codes within a Geometry class. I decided to use the QR codes as part of a reinforcement activity after the instruction. A description of this can be found in the Procedures part of my lesson plan. I had a lot of fun learning to use the QR codes. While coming up with an idea of what I wanted to do, I found several activities online using QR codes. They were not very complicated, but got the students using technology! This made me excited to think about trying more of these in my own classroom. One of my favorite ideas is using QR codes as part of the notes. The QR code will link students to more examples; written or videos. The code itself is on sticky paper and handed out to the student to paste in their notes next to a the examples done in class. This uses less class time, but provides the students with helpful information and practice. For this lesson, the students are practicing constructions using a compass, straightedge, and pencil. The QR codes link to videos that show them exactly how to make the construction and also have step by step instructions written out.
Note: This lesson needs to have iPads, or smart phones/iTouches that have flash player ability on them. My lesson is posted below:

Post 2: Digital Age Citizenship Lesson
For this lesson, I used Vialogues to help create video discussions to teach my students about Digital footprints and Reputations. Vialogues allows questions to be asked at certain parts of the video and for students to make comments on the videos. I used a combination of class discussion, Vialogues, and an activity to teach my students about the dangerous of posting things online. I think it is important for students to start thinking about the effects of what they are posting. Students should be warned at an earlier age so that they can be careful about what will be left on their digital footprint. You can view my lesson below:
Post 3: Designing Learning Experiences
For this lesson, I used Google Maps and created my own map of famous buildings. The dimensions of the buildings are listed at each destination and the students have to calculate the area, surface area, and volume of each building. The link to my Google Map is
